While the Global Signal Exchange (GSE) is focused on tackling online scams and fraud, there are many more similar exchanges across the globe. For example:
- Telecommunications & Networking. In telecoms, there are systems that enable seamless global connectivity, such as signal routing between mobile networks, satellite communications, or internet backbone infrastructure.
- Financial Markets & Trading. In finance, there are numerous exchanges that share real-time data sharing between stock exchanges, trading platforms, and financial institutions. This enables high-frequency trading, algorithmic trading, and arbitrage opportunities based on global signals.
- Cybersecurity & Intelligence. There are a number of networks used in threat intelligence sharing, where cybersecurity firms and government agencies exchange signals about cyber threats, vulnerabilities, or attacks. Organizations like CERT (Computer Emergency Response Teams) and ISACs (Information Sharing and Analysis Centers) play a role in such exchanges.
- Internet of Things (IoT) & Smart Systems. There are many examples of sensor networks communicating across the world, such as smart grids, autonomous vehicles, or global weather monitoring systems.
- Scientific & Astronomical Research. For example, global radio telescope networks, space exploration, and scientific collaborations where signals from deep space or satellites are exchanged globally.
